Abstract
The Mn-IV dimer [Mn(salpn)O](2), methylidyne)]diphenolato-N,N',O,O'}ma nganese(IV)), has been produced as the DMSO adduct by the facile air o xidation of the complex {[Mn-III(salpn)(H2O)](ClO4)}(2) in DMSO, givin g dark-green crystals. Both Mn atoms are in approximately octahedral e nvironments made up of the tetradentate Schiff base salpn and two mu-o xo O atoms, which are both cis [Mn-O 1.804(5) and Mn-O' 1.832(5) Angst rom].
