Abstract
An investigation was made of the propagation velocity of magnetoelasti c oscillations and the Delta E effect as a function of the magnetic an nealing temperature and the external magnetic field in iron-based amor phous metal alloys. It is shown that this dependence is nonmonotonic. The extreme values of the propagation velocity of the magnetoelastic o scillations and the Delta E effect only coincide in a specific range o f annealing temperatures. As the annealing temperature increases, the extreme values of the magnetoelastic characteristics shift toward larg er magnetic fields. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics.
