Abstract
The title compound, hexakis(tetratelluriotantalum) tetraiodide hexaiod otantalate, has a [TaTe4](n) chain structure with TaI6- complex anions and I- anions between the chains. The [TaTe4](n) chain contains recta ngular antiprismatic TaTe8 polyhedra, each Ta atom being coordinated b y four Te-2 groups. The Ta atom in the TaI6- complex anion is octahedr ally coordinated by I- anions.
