Abstract
The case of a 6-year-old girl who presented with a glioblastoma multif orme arising from the pineal gland is reported. Most so-called gliomas of the pineal region originate from neighbouring structures; authenti c malignant gliomas of the pineal itself are extremely rare. This appe ars to be only the second fully documented case reported in the world literature.
