Abstract
The title compound consists of C8H8S4 molecules where the tetrathiaful valene backbone is nearly planar, and bond angles and distances are in accord with other TTF derivatives. The C-S-C angles for the five-memb ered rings of the TTF moiety average 95.83 (15)degrees for the ring co ntaining the methyl groups and 94.37(17)degrees for the unsubstituted ring. The molecules are stacked in pairs about an inversion center, wi th intermolecular S ... S distances of 3.932 (2)Angstrom between adjac ent molecules.
