Abstract
The highly reactive 1:1 intermediate produced in the reaction between alkyl isocyanides and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate is trapped by N, N'-dimethylbarbituric acid to yield 4H-pyrano[3,2-d]pyrimidine derivat ives in fairly high yields.
