Abstract
Statistical information is provided for the first time on the species diversity of clearwing moths in the territory of the former Soviet Uni on, estimated as 159 species from 17 genera. The data are succinctly p rovided for trophic and biotopic specialization and the zoogeographic composition is analyzed. An attempt to analyze the origin and historic al development of the fauna of clearwing moths of Russia and adjacent countries has been undertaken for the first time.
