Ma. Sviridenkov et al., SIZE DISTRIBUTIONS OF DUST AEROSOL MEASURED DURING THE SOVIET-AMERICAN EXPERIMENT IN TAJIKISTAN, 1989, Atmospheric environment. Part A, General topics, 27(16), 1993, pp. 2481-2486
Size distribution data obtained during the U.S.S.R.-U.S. dust experime
nt make it possible to propose a general conception about the size dis
tribution of dust aerosols within the size range 0.005-100 mu m. The m
icrostructure for the optically active fraction of arid aerosol is app
roximated in the form of a log-normal distribution with parameters D =
3.5-6 mu m, sigma(2) = 0.5-0.8, which can be used when estimating rad
iative calculations.
