Stimulated scattering of the intense electron-neutrino burst in a back
ground of neutrons is investigated. We derive the linear growth rates
for several regimes of interest. It is shown that this process is form
ally equivalent to the usual Stimulated Brillouin Scattering found in
laser coupling to ion acoustic oscillations. The influence of this ins
tability in the neutrino-sphere and the consequences for the supernova
e dynamics are also discussed.
