We analyze the contribution of the excited states of the Higgs field t
o the solution of the localization problem of quantum theory. This has
been done without introducing additional fundamental constants or ext
ra hypotheses, as happens in some previous attempts already made in th
is direction. We find, for the electron and Higgs field, solutions tha
t show solitonic behavior This last feature renders, in the one-dimens
ional case, a solution to the localization problem.
