Hf. Llamas, CHEBYSHEV APPROXIMATIONS FOR AN INHOMOGENEOUSLY BROADENED LINE-SHAPE IN MOSSBAUER-SPECTROSCOPY, Revista Mexicana de Fisica, 44(4), 1998, pp. 385-391
We present the analysis of an inhomogeneously broadened Mossbauer line
-shape, from which we obtained a power series expansion, that includes
the absorber thickness (T-a) and the interference effects (xi(0)) At
the same time, we give the al ea and depth dependency formulae as func
tion of the T-a and xi(0) parameters. A new line-shape is built as a l
ineal combination of the traditional transmission integral (TI) with t
he inhomogeneously broadened line-shape, which is useful for absorbers
that have a partial or total inhomogeneous broadening. Finally, a com
parative analysis of the obtained results for the potassium ferrocyani
de compound and the stainless steel foil is carried out using the new
line-shape with respect to the TI to show its reliability.
