We report the multiplexing (use in tandem) of laser-induced fluorescen
ce (LIF) and degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) spectroscopies to prob
e jet-cooled NO2 near 487 nm. We find that the multiplexing of these m
ethods can be used to determine relative line strength factors and the
ratio of populations in different energy levels, and to elucidate the
transition dipole moment dependence of the DFWM signal. (C) 1998 Publ
