Abstract
A taxonomic account is given of the genus Allocassine N. Robson (Cassi noideae, Celastraceae). Allocassine is an isolated monotypic genus rem otely related to the other southern African Cassinoideae. A. laurifoli a (Harv.) N. Robson is a liana occurring in the eastern parts of south ern Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
