Abstract
Analytical expressions for spectral positions, temporal width and ener gy of dispersive waves generated by arbitrary high-order dispersion in mode-locked solitary lasers are derived, being in good agreement with experiments. This knowledge may be helpful for improving the design o f dispersion compensation systems and minimizing the energy drain into side-bands. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
