Calculations of specular beam rocking curves are carried out for growi
ng surfaces. The one-dimensional model of the scattering potential is
assumed. A contribution from a partially covered layer to the whole cr
ystal scattering potential is taken to be proportional to the coverage
of the layer. Surprisingly, for higher glancing angles, results of on
e-dimensional dynamical calculations show a similarity to those predic
ted by the kinematical column approximation. An analysis of why this h
appens has been carried out.
