BOUNDARY EXACT CONTROLLABILITY AND ASYMPTOTIC ANALYSIS OF THIN ELASTIC BODIES

Our aim is to justify boundary exact controllability results of a 2-di mensional plate obtained by Niane [4] and by Zuazua [3]. In order to d o that, we solve a 3-dimensional exact controllability problem of a pl ate with thickness h, by putting controls only on the lateral boundary and in the interior of the plate. Then we study the asymptotic limit of these controls when h tends to zero, and prove that the interior co ntrols vanish as h goes to zero. (C) Academie des Sciences/Elsevier, P aris.
