Abstract
Conditions for determining silicon in cesium iodide and potassium chlo ride by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry were examined. M easurements were performed using a Saturn spectrophotometer with a Gra fit-2 atomizer. It was shown that the sensitivity of silicon determina tion is maximum when graphite tubes are pretreated with a solution of zirconyl chloride and ferric nitrate is added to the test solution as a matrix modifier. The tolerable concentrations of cesium iodide and p otassium chloride in the test solution are 50 and 20 g/L, respectively . Procedures were developed for determining 3 x 10(-5) mass % of silic on in cesium iodide and 2 x 10(-4) mass % of silicon in potassium chlo ride.
