Ja. Jegier et al., POLY(IMIDOGALLANE) - SYNTHESIS OF A CRYSTALLINE 2-D NETWORK SOLID ANDITS PYROLYSIS TO FORM NANOCRYSTALLINE GALLIUM NITRIDE IN SUPERCRITICAL AMMONIA, Chemistry of materials, 10(8), 1998, pp. 2041
In supercritical ammonia, the stepwise dehydrogenation of [H2GaNH2](3)
to nanocrystalline GaN at 150 degrees C requires several hours and pr
oceeds through the new crystalline 2-D polymeric compound, poly(imidog
allane), [HGaNH](n), which can be isolated in high yield after 30 min
of reaction. Use of ND3 results in rapid exchange of the NH2 ligands i
n [H2GaNH2](3) with ND2, even at -33 degrees C, suggesting that a dono
r-acceptor complex, H2Ga(NH2)(NH3), is present in solution.
