Abstract
Nucleosome dimers from chicken erythrocytes show an ionic strength dep endence of sedimentation coefficient similar to that of trimers, and i ndicative of a degree of compaction over a range of low ionic strength s. This is not easily reconciled with straight linkers but is consiste nt with bending or kinking of the linker DNA. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
