A conjugate mathematical model, including the equations of filtration
and heat transfer in a porous wall and the equation of boundary layer
on its surface, is used to investigate the heat and mass transfer unde
r conditions of flow past a cylindrical front edge with a porous envel
ope. The effect of longitudinal filtration and thermal conductivity on
the characteristics of transpiration cooling is treated. Special atte
ntion is given to the nonuniformity of distribution of the parameters
of conjugate heat transfer in the longitudinal direction.
