Q. Long et al., NONLINEAR EFFECTS IN A 2-MODE LASER WITH MULTIPLICATIVE NOISE-INDUCEDBY GAIN FLUCTUATIONS, Physics letters. A, 245(3-4), 1998, pp. 246-252
A two-mode ring laser gain-noise model taking account of full saturati
on effects with multiplicative noise induced by gain fluctuations is i
nvestigated. A comparison with the currently used models, where multip
licative noise arises from loss fluctuations, shows that the laser int
ensity statistical properties are not only related to saturation effec
ts but also subject to the way in which multiplicative noise is introd
uced. The nonlinear multiplicative noise coefficient occurring in this
novel model due to gain fluctuations weakens the anomalous characteri
stics brought about in the laser intensity statistical properties by i
ntroducing multiplicative noise, (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
