Abstract
The pulse-area dependence of the echo-modulation pattern in nuclear mu ltilevel systems is investigated by using the density matrix. Theoreti cal expression for any value I of the nuclear spin is given. The modul ation patterns observed in Cs-133 (I = 7/2) NMR spin echoes in CsCoCl3 are in good agreement with the theoretical calculations. (C) 1998 Els evier Science B.V.
