Abstract
In this paper, a lightweight genetic search algorithm (LGSA) is propos ed. Different evolution schemes are investigated, such that the contro l overheads are largely reduced. It is also shown that the proposed LG SA can be viewed as a novel expansion of the three-step search algorit hm (TSS), It can be seen from the simulation results that the performa nce of LGSA is very similar to that of FSA, and the computational comp lexity is much lower than that of FSA and other previously proposed ge netic motion estimation algorithms.
