Abstract
The challenges in health care today require input and cooperation from everyone. Interdisciplinary teams are being promoted and used as one tool to achieve solutions to complex health care delivery problems. Ho wever, nurses must not abandon the nursing perspective when they parti cipate in an interdisciplinary team. This article presents the case fo r the visibility of nursing in the interdisciplinary environment. The case is illustrated with a discussion of the important role of compute rized nursing information systems to document nurses' contributions to health care with the use of standardized languages.
