Abstract
By means of dimensional analysis, geometric, and physical optic approx imation, a new method is suggested for the electromagnetic scattering measurement of a fully coated lossy target. Using this method, a model measurement for the radar cross section (RCS) can be carried out at t he same frequency with a prototype by varying the size of model. This is significant in the lack of experimental equipment required ol the p roblem of frequency dependency of radar-absorbing materials on the obj ects. For the purpose of verification, the measurements of a cylinder and plate ale carried out at X-band by means of a transition model. Th e computed results from models agree well with the measured data in th e prototype itself. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
