Abstract
The barycentric method for studying the Brownian diffusion of colloida l particles was proposed. This method can be applied to both transpare nt and nontransparent dispersions and makes it possible to measure the diffusion coefficient and volume density, as well as the size of coll oidal particles without disturbing the state of a system. All these pa rameters are determined using a sufficiently sensitive balance. The ne w (non-Einstein) barycentric formula was obtained for the coefficient of Brownian diffusion.
