Bc. Regan et al., COLOR DISCRIMINATION THRESHOLDS IN PARKINSONS-DISEASE - RESULTS OBTAINED WITH A RAPID COMPUTER-CONTROLLED COLOR-VISION TEST, Vision research (Oxford), 38(21), 1998, pp. 3427-3431
A dysfunction of dopaminergic retinal neurons is thought to occur in P
arkinson's disease, manifesting itself in impaired performance on vari
ous visual discrimination tasks. We have investigated whether differen
ces in colour discrimination could readily be detected between a norma
l group and a Parkinsonian group, using a computer-controlled test of
colour vision. Although some individual Parkinsonian patients showed a
n abnormal elevation of colour discrimination thresholds, there was no
significant difference between the normal group and the Parkinsonian
group. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science I,td. All rights reserved.
