Abstract
An improved volume integral equation method for computing electromagne tic scattering by particles in the free space or imbedded in layered m edia is introduced. We apply method of moment with rooftop expansion a nd test function for the solution of volume integral equation. The sin gularity of Green's function is reduced by moving derivatives to test and expansion functions. Comparison with Mie theory and other numerica l codes are made. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
