S. Saika et al., CELLULAR FIBRONECTIN ON INTRAOCULAR LENSES EXPLANTED FROM PATIENTS, Graefe's archive for clinical and experimental ophthalmology, 231(12), 1993, pp. 718-721
We investigated the origin of fibronectin (FN) on five posterior and f
our anterior chamber explanted intraocular lenses (IOLs) using immunoh
istochemical methods. Cellular deposits (assumed to be macrophages) an
d fibrous or membrane-like proteinaceous deposits on the IOLs showed i
mmunoreactivity to an antibody against cellular FN. These proteinaceou
s deposits were believed to be products of the cells that adhered to t
he IOLs.
