M. Knobel et al., EFFECT OF AS-CAST TOPOLOGICAL DISORDER ON THE MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF NANOCRYSTALLINE FE73.5CU1NB3SI13.5B9, Philosophical magazine. B. Physics of condensed matter. Structural, electronic, optical and magnetic properties, 68(6), 1993, pp. 861-867
In this work we investigate the evolution of the magnetic permeability
and its time relaxation in different stages of nanocrystallization of
four Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 samples produced with different quenching r
ates. The results show that some typical features of the nanocrystalli
zation process are different in alloys prepared with different quenchi
ng rates. The magnetic disaccommodation is found to be extremely low i
n the nanocrystalline state. The increase in mu(i) upon nanocrystalliz
ation is observed to be strongly affected by the initial degree of dis
order. In particular, ribbons produced with a higher quenching rate ar
e characterized by a stronger magnetic permeability enhancement in the
nanocrystalline state.
