Abstract
The age of flight and the importance of travel place an ever-increasin g demand on the design of aircraft maintenance facilities. Cardiff Wal es Airport was chosen as the site for the new British Airways Heavy Ma intenance Hangar, codenamed Project Dragonfly, in April 1990, followin g a board decision to construct their new aircraft maintenance facilit y in Wales. This Paper offers a general description of the engineering , planning, design and construction activities which have contributed to the success of the project.
