Abstract
We present observations and an analysis of the X-ray source 1RXS J0832 .6-2525 which shows it to be a low field magnetic white dwarf with an unusual high mass. This is the second magnetic white dwarf for which a determination of a spectroscopic mass has been possible, and both sta rs belong to the growing class of ultramassive white dwarfs (.)(M grea ter than or equal to 1.1 M-.).
