Iv. Savvi et al., RECHARGE OF OXALATE COMPLEXES OF RUTHENIUM(III) FROM SOLUTIONS WITH AVARIABLE SUPPORTING ELECTROLYTE CONCENTRATION, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 34(8), 1998, pp. 718-724
Using recharge of trioxalate complexes of ruthenium(III) at the mercur
y electrode as an example, the possibility is shown of a change in the
degree of reversibility of the electrode reaction at the expense of t
he Psi(1) effect and of the transition from reversible conditions of t
he occurrence of this reaction in solutions containing an excess of a
supporting electrolyte to irreversible, at low contents of the latter.
According to an analysis of polarization curves, the experiment is in
satisfactory agreement with the basic postulates of the theory. In th
e framework of the assumptions made, the most probable is the conclusi
on that cations of the supporting electrolyte take part in the occurre
nce of the electrode reaction.
