Oa. Potapov et al., ESTIMATING THE MIGRATION CONSTITUENT OF THE CURRENT DURING ELECTROLYTIC GROWTH OF LEAD DENDRITES, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 34(8), 1998, pp. 750-755
The growth of a dendrite deposit of lead is studied in fluoborate and
nitrate electrolytes containing 0.75 M Pb2+ at various supporting elec
trolyte concentrations. The results are used to determine migration co
nstituents of discharge currents at dendrite tops. It is found that th
e absolute value of the migration flow towards dendrite tops may be es
sential even in the presence of an excess of a foreign electrolyte. Th
is effect is due to a high current density at the tops caused by spher
ical diffusion.
