Abstract
To develop a general quantitative method of analyzing the process of e
lectrodeposition of high resistance materials, the electrical resistan
ce of electrochemically deposited insulating polypyrrole (PPy) film wa
s measured in situ by ac impedance. By considering the potential drop
across the PPy film during its formation by constant potential electro
lysis, the growth of the insulating PPy film was analyzed, and an equi
valent circuit describing the interfacial structure was proposed. (C)
