Abstract
The discrete-time inventory control problem for deteriorating,a items with deterministic or stochastic demand is considered The control prob lem is stated as an optimization problem with constrained control vari ables. The linear quadratic (Le) criterion is used to derive the optim al control policy for both deterministic and stochastic demand cases. In the presence of bounded uncertainties, a guaranteed cost control la w is also proposed. A numerical example is provided to show the useful ness of the theoretical results.
