K. Hoare et al., IDENTIFICATION OF HYALURONAN-BINDING PROTEINS USING A BIOTINYLATED HYALURONAN PROBE, Connective tissue research, 30(2), 1993, pp. 117-126
A method for detecting hyaluronan (HA)-binding proteins in transblot a
ssays using biotinylated HA (BHA) is described. Some of the binding ch
aracteristics of a novel HA receptor termed RHAMM (Receptor for HA-Med
iated Motility) are characterized using this assay. The method is also
used to detect other HA-binding proteins in tissue homogenates. This
method is semiquantitative, rapid, reproducible, sensitive and therefo
re of potential use in identifying the levels of HA-binding proteins i
n different cells and tissues.
