EVALUATION OF SALINOMYCIN (BIOCOX(R)) EFFECTS ON PIG PERFORMANCE

The aim of the present studies was to evaluate the effects of salinomy cin (Biocox(R)) on the piglet and growing-fattening pig performance. F orty-eight piglets and 40 growing pigs were used. Biocox(R) was includ ed in the piglet feed at a level of 60 ppm and the observation period lasted for 35 days. In the feed for growing pigs Biocox(R) was include d at 60 ppm during the first 14 days and at 30 ppm thereafter until th e 71th day. The dietary antimicrobial supplements significantly improv ed the pig daily mean weight gain and feed conversion ratio.
