Abstract
The coupling between electrons of the solitonic band and the phonon mo des of the solitonic array opens a new Peierls energy gap in the solit onic energy band in the KCP compound, above 85 K. Considering transiti ons across this new energy gap, one finds the temperature dependence o f the longitudinal d.c. conductivity in KCP in accordance with experim ent within this temperature range.
