Polymer-supported titanates were prepared by covalent bonding of a tri
alkoxychlorotitane to a preformed macroporous poly(4-hydroxystyrene) r
esin. The reactivity and stability to recycling of the catalyst obtain
ed were demonstrated in the catalysis of the transesterifications of m
ethyl methacrylate with 2-ethylhexanol and ethyl butyrate with 1-dodec
anol. A low leaching of titanium was observed during four successive u
