Abstract
The Edwards-Anderson parameters for the reorientational relaxation of linear solute molecules are calculated within a mode-coupling theory ( MCT). The translational and orientational dynamics of the linear trace r particle in a supercooled liquid reveals the unconventional dynamics of the host fluid. The considered tracers are top-down symmetrical du mbbells consisting of two fused spheres. A type A transition separates the freezing of the orientational degrees of freedom for odd angular momenta. The phase diagram is presented in terms of density of the sol vent and elongation of the solute molecule. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
