Abstract
We describe a Sobolev gradient method for finding minima of the Ginzbu rg-Landau functional for superconductivity. This method leads to a par ticularly simple algorithm which avoids consideration of the nonlinear boundary conditions associated with the Ginzburg-Landau equations.
