Sr. Dogra et S. Kant, EFFECT OF BAVISTIN ON THE GROWTH AND NODULATION OF SOME PULSES UNDER JAMMU SOIL-CONDITIONS, J-AND-K STATE, Journal of environmental biology, 19(4), 1998, pp. 313-321
The effect of Bavistin on the growth and nodulation of beans (Phaeseol
us vulgaris L.) and green gram (Phaeseolus aureus Roxb) grown on sandy
loam soil with ph 7.5 and available N 287 kg ha(-1) indicated that (i
) its application at various concentration under different treatments
did not show any definite effect on stern length and internode in both
the crops but seed germination, increased at 500, 1000 and 1500 ppm i
n treated seed over control (ii) in beans, number of nodules increased
in all treatments over control at first uprooting with 1000 ppm and i
n moong their number increased only with 1500 ppm in seed treatment wi
th regular increase in nodules weight at 250 to 1500 ppm in soil treat
ment (iii) in both the crops fungicide did not show any definite effec
t on number of pods per plant, seeds per pod and weight of seeds per p
od, (iv) in both the crops increase in N up take was seen in seed and
aerial spray at 500 and 1000 ppm and (v) available N content of soil i
ncreased under seed treatment.
