Compositions and structures of two mixed complexes of chromium and zin
c chlorides with carbamide-[Cr(CON2H4)(6)](3+)[ZnCl4]Cl-2-(-). 2H(2)O
(I) and [Cr(CON2H4)(6)](3+)[ZnCl4](2-)[ZnCl3(CON2H4)](-) (II)-were det
ermined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis (sp. gr. P (1) ov
er bar for I and II; Z= 2 and 1; R = 0.032 and 0.054 for 3498 and 3826
reflections, respectively). In structure II, one of the Cl atoms and
the carbamide molecule bound to the Zn atom are statistically disorder
ed. The symmetry of the [Cr(CON2H4)(6)](3+) cation approximates 32 in
structure I and (3) over bar in structure II.
