RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE TEMPER ROLLING OF THIN SHEETS

Important results have been published during the last twenty years on temper rolling and the mechanisms of this process can now be considere d as properly understood. In the present review, it is considered that flatness control is better achieved by other means than temper rollin g and the emphasis is rather on yield point suppression and roughness transfer Although there are interactions between the different functio ns of temper rolling, a separate modelling of the rolling aspects and of the roughness transfer seems To be more appropriate than the develo pment of a general super-model.
