New compounds described by the general formulas Ti1.27FeSb, Ti1.18Fe0.
57Sb, and TiFe0.3Sb have been synthesized, and their crystal structure
s have been determined (full-matrix refinement by the Rietveld method)
. Antimonide of the composition Ti1.27FeSb has a structure close to th
at of MgAgAs and MnCu2Al types [sp. gr. F (4) over bar 3m, a = 6.0158(
6) Angstrom], the Ti1.18Fe0.57Sb Structure is closely related to the N
i2In type [sp. gr. P6(3)/mmc, a = 4.1649(2) Angstrom, c = 6.2589(4) An
gstrom] and the compound TiFe0.3Sb crystallizes in the structure type
TiNiSi. All of the antimonides studied have numerous vacancies.
