MODIFICATION OF FIBER SURFACES BY PERMANENT FIXATION OF SUPRAMOLECULAR COMPONENTS, PART 4 - FULLERENE C-60

Fixation of the C-60 fullerene onto polyamide and wool fabric is inves tigated. Methods for the reaction of the dissolved fullerene molecules with the solid polymers are described. C-60 is selectively detected o n the fibre surfaces by means of laser desorption ionization mass spec troscopy. Different tests demonstrate that the fullerene molecules are permanently applied to the polymeric substrates.
