L. Ostergaard et al., CEREBRAL BLOOD-FLOW MEASUREMENTS BY MAGNETIC-RESONANCE-IMAGING BOLUS TRACKING - COMPARISON WITH [O-15]H2O POSITRON-EMISSION-TOMOGRAPHY IN HUMANS, Journal of cerebral blood flow and metabolism, 18(9), 1998, pp. 935-940
In six young, healthy volunteers, a novel method to determine cerebral
blood flow (CBF) using magnetic resonance (MR) bolus tracking was com
pared with [O-15]H2O positron emission tomography (PET). The method yi
elded parametric CBF images with tissue contrast in good agreement wit
h parametric PET CBF images. Introducing a common conversion factor, M
R CBF values could be converted into absolute flow rates, allowing com
parison of CBF values among normal subjects.
