Nl. Singh et S. Mukherjee, ANALYSIS OF THE EXCITATION-FUNCTIONS FROM ALPHA-PARTICLE INDUCED REACTIONS ON COBALT UP TO 80 MEV, Acta physica slovaca, 48(4), 1998, pp. 469-479
Alpha particle induced reactions on the cobalt were studied up to 80 M
eV using stacked foil activation technique and Ge (Li) gamma ray spect
roscopy method. Eight excitation functions were measured for the forma
tion of reaction residues Cu-61, Co-60, Fe-59, Co-58, Co-57, Co-56, Mn
-54 and Mn-52. The experimental results were compared with calculation
s considering equilibrium as well as preequilibrium hybrid and index m
odels using initial configuration n(0) = (4p0h). In general, in most o
f the cases the shapes of the excitation functions were fairly well re
produced with the model predictions while for (alpha,2pn) and (alpha,a
lpha 3n) reactions pronounced plateau was observed. The absolute Value
s of (alpha, xnyp) reactions are agreeing within a factor of four, whil
e for (alpha, xnypz alpha) reactions the agreement is within an order o
f magnitude. However, the emission of alpha-particle is treated purely
as all equilibrium process in the codes.
