Abstract
This paper deals with resonant interactions betwen Alfven and acoustic waves, propagating through an ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) plasma, with the same phase velocity. The nonlinear coupling equations for th e case under consideration are derived. Then, these equations are nume ricaly solved for different particular cases. The present results may explain phenomena observed in the Earth's ionosphere.
